About This Font
Linea 72: A Bold Sevenies Statement
Linea 72 captures the raw, hand-drawn energy of the 1970s, originally crafted by Roland Hirter during the phototypesetting era. Its distinctively thick and angular forms evoke a nostalgic yet timeless visual language that feels both retro and remarkably modern. The typeface possesses a confident personality, emerging from a time when each character was meticulously drawn by hand, resulting in a design that carries authentic human warmth and character. This display font shines with a bold graphic presence that immediately grabs attention, making it perfect for projects that require a strong, expressive voice without sacrificing readability in large sizes.
Bring your vintage-inspired designs to life with this versatile workhorse of typography. It is ideal for creating eye-catching posters, album covers, and brand identities that need to stand out in a crowded visual landscape. The font’s sturdy construction works beautifully in headlines where impact is paramount, while its clean lines ensure it remains legible even at smaller sizes. Designers can experiment with this face to create dynamic layouts that feel grounded in history but resonate with contemporary audiences who appreciate unique, characterful type. Whether you are crafting a music event flyer or a fashion lookbook, Linea 72 provides the perfect balance of artistic flair and functional utility for your creative vision.

Questions
Is it really free?
Yes. No account, no watermark and no export limit. The tool runs in your browser, so your text never leaves your device.
Will the SVG work in Cricut Design Space?
Yes — the export is a true vector path, not an image traced into one, so it uploads and cuts cleanly. The same file opens in Silhouette Studio, Illustrator, Inkscape and Figma.
Can I sell what I make?
That depends on the font, not on the tool — each font page states its licence. Many are free for personal use with a commercial licence available from the original designer, and the licence line links straight to the source.
Do I need to install the font first?
No. The font loads in the page, so you can set your text and export without installing anything. You can still download the font file separately if you want it on your system.
